Major urban extension at Wellingborough a step closer

Following the proposal for a development of 3000 dwellings at Upper Redhill on the northern edge of Wellingborough the Secretary of State has indicated that he is minded to permit the development subject to completion of a signed deed by the Borough of Wellingborough Council.  The scheme at appeal does not include the whole of the land intended for development in the Core Strategy and an application submitted by DLP on behalf of the landowners and which has effectively been in abeyance pending the appeal decision now looks set to progress towards a successful conclusion.  The scheme will allow for an additional 226 dwellings.
