Hallam Towers

Conversion of former Hotel to apartment and erection of dwellinghouses
- No affordable Housing Provision-

DLP Planning Ltd (Sheffield) has successfully obtained detailed planning permission for the conversion of the former Hallam Towers Hotel in Sheffield to form 121 apartments and 11 dwellinghouses.

Hallam Towers is a landmark, iconic 1960’s building located in the City’s Broomhills Distrct, which has remained vacant following the hotel’s closure in 2004.

The planning permission obtained by DLP, because of the costs of conversion, as ratified by the District Valuer, and the acknowledged need to secure a beneficial use, does not require the provision of affordable housing.

The design approach followed will see the exterior of the original building reclad with special glazing and the formation of new balconies to provide additional, private amenity space.

The development also includes a significant number of innovative, environmental features including green roofs and walls, together with extensive landscaping within the site.
