Reserved Matters Application approved for Residential Development at Grimesthorpe Road, Burngreave, Sheffield.

DLP Planning Ltd (Sheffield) has successfully obtained full planning permission subject to conditions for 44 family houses in the Burngreave area of Sheffield. This part of the city is part of the Housing Market Renewal Area and has been subject to various regeneration and reinvestment attempts by the Council and other public sector bodies.

Outline planning permission for residential development of the site was obtained by DLP Planning Ltd (Sheffield) at appeal in 2006.

The detailed proposals were informed by marketing assessment of the local community who sought larger family houses to meet the needs of the specific community. This desire for larger properties was reflected in the provision of units ranging from 4 – 8 bedroom properties.

Transform South Yorkshire and CABE enabling input to the design and assessment of the scheme through Building for Life was also use to convince the Local Authority and Urban Design Officers in particular of the value of the scheme.

The dwellings have set a high target of Code Level 4 for Sustainable Homes with potential for further reductions in carbon footprint in future.
