Redevelopment of Business Park for Mixed Use including Residential, Business, Senior Living, Creche, Open Space and Community FacilitiesDLP Planning Ltd (Sheffield) has successfully obtained outline planning permission subject to conditions and a S106 Agreement for the redevelopment of Onward Business Park, Wakefield Road, Ackworth near Pontefract in West Yorkshire. The existing Business Park, used mainly for warehousing, storage and distribution is to be redeveloped for the following:
The Business Park, although allocated for Employment Land in the UDP and currently employing approximately 35 people, would through redevelopment have the potential to create 140 new jobs in offices, live/work units and light industry.
The permission has an inbuilt phasing element which will allow assessment of financial contributions to education and affordable housing to be assessed against the viability of each particular phase of development as it comes forward for detail permission through a reserved matters submission.
The scheme has been subject to Design Panel Review at the Local Authority in spite of all matters being reserved with the exception of access from the main highway.
Evolution of the proposed development has involved the Parish Council who have been engaged particularly in relation to the future management and running of the community facilities and some of the open space associated with the scheme.
