DLPT assists with proposals for a residential development in West Wales - September 2009
DLP Transportation Ltd has prepared a Transport Statement in support of a planning application for the construction of 78 houses within the settlement limits of a small village in West Wales. The planning officers fully support the proposed development however; the highway officer has concerns as to the application of Manual for Streets within a 30mph zone.
The Transport Assessment found that the development is highly accessible by sustainable modes of travel and that the increased traffic brought about by the new development will be modest. As part of the proposed development, a 20mph zone will be implemented due to the proximity of a local primary school. We are also currently preparing a Design and Access Statement to accompany the planning application.
